Plastic Free Pledge

When we say WE GIVE A FORK – we mean it. At Farmer J, our goal is to get rid of all plastic packaging by the end of 2019. We are not there yet, but we have made some strides in the right direction…

IT MAY LOOK LIKE PLASTIC – BUT IT’S NOT

  • Our cutlery, smoothie cups, yoghurt pots and straws are NOT plastic. They are made from biodegradable cornstarch or paper (in reference to the straws) – it may look like plastic, but it’s not;

BYE BYE WATER BOTTLES

  • As of 2018, we removed all our plastic water bottles. You can either buy glass water bottles or fill-up your re-usable bottle with our free filtered water tap (at King William Street);

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE FIBRE

  • The fieldtray bases are made from natural, renewable fibres that are completely compostable & biodegradable. We source them from an eco-friendly packaging company. Find out more here.

IT’S RECYCLABLE

  • Our Fieldtray lids are actually made from recyclable plastic. Before you say anything – we know this isn’t good enough, but we are on the case! We are currently in the process of sourcing non-plastic lids (that keep your fieldtrays & food in the best possible condition) as removing plastic from our sites is our aim. We hope to achieve this soon and please keep following us to stay up to date!
